Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council attended a Joint Annual Session at the Republic of Indonesia between the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, DPR RI, and the Regional Representative Council of Republic of Indonesia, DPD RI. The session was held in conjunction with the Republic of Indonesia's 80th Independence Day, and the Opening of the First Session 2025-2026.
The Speaker of the Legislative Council's attendance at the session was under the invitation of Yang Berhormat Doctor Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. Also present was Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council, and His Excellency Retired Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia.
Among the main agenda was the State of the Nation Address by His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia in commemorating the nation's 80th Independence Day.
The Joint Annual Session was also attended by the Speaker of Parliament from several friendly nations namely Malaysia, Singapore and Timor-Leste.
