Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held for 92 students

Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTET) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for 92 of its Upper Six students (2025/2026 session) at the PTET Multi-purpose Hall on Saturday.

The event was organised in collaboration between PTET Department of Islamic Studies, PTET Co-Curriculum department and PTET Student Welfare department.

Director of Administration, Administration Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Mohammad Zulhilmi bin Haji Omar Ali attended on behalf of the guest of honour, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the MoRA Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar.

The ceremony began with a video screening on safety procedures, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Mohammad Zulhilmi.

The opening prayer, Doa for Al-Quran recitation, was led by Muhammad Aniq Fakhrullah bin Nasrullah, followed by the recitation of selected surahs by the Khatam participants, led by Abg Hadzwan bin Abg Hadzman and Muhd Adli Alauddin bin Haji Abdul Rahim.

The Takhtim was recited by female Lower Six students (2026/2027), while the Dikir Marhaban was read by male Lower Six students (2026/2027).

The Khatam prayer was recited by Muhd Aqil Al-Mualim bin Eliasmin and Doa Selamat was recited by Head of the Religious Unit (MPP 2026/2027) Muhd Hafiz Haikal bin Muhd Sahli.

The ceremony was enlivened by the sprinkling of bunga rampai and the application of perfume by the attendees upon the Khatam participants.

A token of appreciation was also presented to Mohammad Zulhilmi, while traditional bunga telur was distributed to all attendees.

PTET Principal Muhd Shahnofazli bin Haji Sabli, Deputy Principal (Administration) Haji Azrin bin Haji Bolhassan and Deputy Principal (Academic) Rozieana binti Haji Zini were also present.
