Knowledge Convention Premier Forum

 

 


His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office attended the Premier Forum of the Knowledge Convention 2025, 27th September morning. The Premier Forum discussed the topic "Negara Ditanai Dengan Sedekah" or The Country is Upheld with Charity.

 

Organised in conjunction with His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 79th birthday celebration, it was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. In attendance was His Royal Highness' brother, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara as Co-Advisor of the Knowledge Convention 2025 Steering Committee AND the Co-Chairpersons of the Knowledge Convention 2025 Steering Committee.

 

The reading of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development in his welcoming address among other matters stressed on the responsibility of A Country Upheld by Charity. Yang Berhormat said, when a person carries out his or her role thus the country will be a lasting field of blessings and rewards. If a country is upheld with charity, then the country will always be bestowed multiple blessings and prosperity.  

 

The free assistance given by the Government of His Majesty, is among the charitable practices. This was touched upon by Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, Assistant Mufti for Buhuth, during the Premier Forum chaired by Awang Haji Muhammad Khairul Azhar bin Idris, Assistant Lecturer of KUPU SB.

 

Awang Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs explained that charity can strengthen solidarity among the community. The aid rendered is also considered charity. This practice undoubtedly strengthens relations among mankind and can solidify harmony and solidarity in community living.

 

Doctor Awang Haji Hambali bin Haji Awang Jaili, Assistant Rector for Research and International, UNISSA also shared that the practice of charity can contribute to nation development. Charity can solve three aspects, namely economy, education and social development.

 

Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

 

The principle of charity as the pillar of nation development and prosperity as well as nationwide effort in strengthening charitable practices was highlighted in the Knowledge Convention Exhibition.
