The Brunei Muara District Office, through the Licensing and Enforcement Division, reminds the public to always maintain environmental cleanliness when engaging in recreational activities. The warning was issued after three individuals were issued compound fines for littering at Jerudong beach area.
Abdul Kholik and Joyo Caksono, both Indonesian citizens, were each imposed with a $100 compound fine. While, Siti Nor Atiqah binti Awang Haji Asan, a local citizen, was imposed with a compound fine of $100.
The Brunei Muara District Office also issued a compound fine to an individual for littering at a public parking area. Mohamad Firdaus bin Haji Mohamad Ali Khanafiah was fined $100 for littering at the Lambak Kanan Community Hall stall area.
The individuals were given 7 days to settle the fines. If in default, the cases can be brought to court.
