Captain Carsten Bindseil was left speechless after winning the mystery grand prize – a brand-new BYD Sealion 6 – during the grand draw held in conjunction with the Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Charity Polo Day.
The expatriate, who has worked in Brunei’s aviation industry for the past eight years, said he was in complete disbelief when his ticket was drawn and the mystery prize was revealed as the vehicle, which made a dramatic entrance by being driven onto the field to the cheers of the crowd.
“I am speechless about winning the grand prize on a day like this. It is mind-blowing, especially winning a car like this. To me, BYD is a really fantastic brand,” he said.
The Charity Polo Day, organised by Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam last Sunday, featured entertainment, food, shopping booths, mystery prizes and lucky draws to raise funds in support of the centre’s programmes and services.
BYD supported the event as one of its sponsors as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The winning ticket was drawn by Datin Paduka Seri Dayang Hajah Mariam binti Abdul Aziz.
Following the announcement, Managing Director of Maju Motors Sdn Bhd Chan Key Hong presented the BYD Sealion 6 to Captain Bindseil, marking the highlight of the charity event.
