The Public Works Department (JKR) announced temporary road closures at several locations to facilitate ongoing maintenance works.
One closure affects both bounds of the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Highway to allow tree cutting and pruning along the route, scheduled to take place on October 10, 2026 from 10pm until the work is completed.
Meanwhile, a temporary road closure will also take place along the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge on the Brunei-Muara bound stretch from KM BM2.2 to KM BM6, from October 6-31, 2026 to facilitate the installation of a 66kV cable.
The department provided alternative road access to assist road users in navigating around the affected sections.
JKR advised motorists travelling through these areas to exercise caution, adhere to all traffic signs, and comply with the stipulated speed limits.
