Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan received a courtesy call from a delegation led by Member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China and Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the NPC Bayin Chaolu.
The courtesy call took place in the Dhiyafah Room on Level 5 of the Darul Itqan Building, Ministry of Religious Affairs on Wednesday and provided opportunities for both sides to exchange views on efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in religious affairs, as well as to enhance mutual understanding of the religious policies practised by the two countries.
Also attending the courtesy call as part of the visiting delegation were Member of the Standing Committee of the NPC and Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the NPC, Bai Shangcheng; Member of the Standing Committee of the NPC and Vice Chairwoman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the NPC, Zhou Min; Director General of the Research Department of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the NPC, Liu Jinglei; and Level II Division-Rank Official of the Legislative Affairs Office of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the NPC, Li Kangwei.
The delegation was accompanied by Ambassador-Designate of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam Chen Shaocun.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar was also present.
