The Ministry of Education (MoE), through the Department of Administration and Services, the Department of Planning, Development and Research, and the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre, held a Maulidur Rasul celebration yesterday.
The gathering took place at the ministry’s Main Hall in the presence of Deputy Minister of Education Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal as the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by verses from Al-Quran recited by Department of Curriculum Development Head of Islamic Education and Arab Language Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abdul Manaf.
The event featured a special lecture titled ‘Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Murabbi Ummah: Memperkukuh Aqidah, Membentuk Akhlak dan Memperkasa Pendidikan’, by Islamic Da’wah Centre Assistant Religious Development Officer Muhammad Safwan bin Mohammad Suffian.
The commemoration continued with the recitation of Dikir Marhaban led by a group of officers and staff from the MoE.
A token of appreciation was subsequently presented to the guest speaker by a representative of the guest of honour, before the gathering concluded with the recitation of a closing prayer.
The annual celebration is held by the MoE to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty and deepen devotion to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), carrying this year’s theme ‘Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Suluh Aqidah’. Permanent secretaries, vice-chancellors, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments, alongside officers and staff from the MoE were also present.
