The Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it held a Dikir Maulud ceremony in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration at Kampong Selangan Mosque, Mukim Amo, Temburong on Wednesday.
The ceremony began with a congregational Maghrib prayer, followed by the recitation of Dikir Maulud and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony concluded with a prayer seeking protection for Brunei Darussalam from calamities and all forms of illness.
The ceremony was held to further enliven the celebration of Islamic occasions and create a more festive atmosphere during the Maulidur Rasul celebration, while encouraging ministry personnel to continue reciting selawat and praising Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Awang Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, who is also Village Head of Labu Estate and Piasau-Piasau, was the guest of honour. – James Kon
