Over 40 members comprising Beliawanis and Muslimah from mosques and religious halls across the Kampong Serusop area made a short trip to the Belait District as part of the ‘Minal Masjid Ilal Masjid’ programme at the STKRJ Kampong Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque, Seria yesterday.
Leading the visiting delegation was head imam at the International Airport Surau Haji Mohammad Ashraf bin Haji Bujang Yussop, who was welcomed by imam at the STKRJ Kampong Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque Fakri bin Ibrahim.
The programme, held in conjunction with the third school term holidays, aimed to foster closer ties between mosque communities, while encouraging greater participation in religious and community activities.
In his opening remarks, Haji Mohammad Ashraf noted that the programme’s concept was based on visiting one mosque to another while fostering a spirit of brotherhood, sharing knowledge and experiences, and collectively contributing towards the revitalisation of mosques as centres of worship and community development.
“The visit to STKRJ Kampong Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque also provides an opportunity for mosque officers, congregants and community members to get to know one another, exchange views and share experiences in organising religious, social, welfare, family and youth development activities.”
He also highlighted the importance of holding the programme during the third school term holidays, as it provides families, youth and younger generations with activities centred on religion, fellowship and community engagement.
“The programme also seeks to expand friendship and cooperation networks between mosques, particularly between mosques in Brunei-Muara and Belait Districts.”
He hoped that the relationships formed through the visit would continue beyond the programme, leading to further cooperation between mosques, including religious affairs, education, welfare, youth development, women’s activities and community programmes.
The programme continued with a series of selawat recitations led by the Muslimah at the STKRJ Kampong Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque, as well as by the visiting delegation.
Other highlights of the programme included the recitation of Dikir Marhaban, as well as a sharing session. – Daniel Lim
