The Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading and Al-Qur'an Verses Memorisation and its Understanding for muallaf or new converts Nationwide continued with the Al-Qur'an Verses Memorisation and its Understanding Competition. Organised in conjunction with the Islamic Da'wah Centre's Ruby Jubilee, the competition took place at the centre in Kampung Pulaie, 8th October morning.
11 participants presented their readings. Apart from evaluating the effectiveness of guidance through the Muallaf Guidance Scheme and Classes, the competition aimed to inspire new converts to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings through Al-Qur'an.
The prize presentation for both competitions was held on 8th October afternoon. It was officiated by Awang Misle bin Haji Abd Karim, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Emerging champion of the Musabaqah for the men's and women's categories respectively were Awang Muhammad Faizul bin Muhammad Azlan from Tutong District and Dayang Nurul'ain binti Mohd Redzuan from Temburong District. Meanwhile, the men's and women's champions of the Al-Qur'an Verses Memorisation and its Understanding Competition were Awang Muhammad Fadzil Eshan bin Haji Abdul Alyan from Tutong District and Dayang Nurul Zariah Diyanah binti Muhammad Ali Arman from Tutong District respectively.
