Muslim women urged to emulate Prophet Muhammad

Love for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) should go beyond remembrance and be reflected through the practice of his teachings, Sunnah and exemplary character in daily life.

This was highlighted during a tazkirah ‘Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Suluh Aqidah: Dari Penghayatan kepada Pengamalan’ delivered by Islamic Da’wah Centre Religious Development Assistant Officer, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Siti Ramziah binti Haji Mohamad Ramli.

The tazkirah was delivered during the 41st Special Women’s Munajat Night, part of the 246th Munajat Night organised by the MoRA on Saturday.

Siti Ramziah said Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) brought humanity from darkness to light, from misguidance to guidance, and from worshipping idols to worshipping Allah the Almighty.

She described the Prophet (pbuh) as a qudwah or an example and role model, whose teachings should be reflected in the lives of Muslims and the love for the Prophet (pbuh) should lead to a higher level of commitment by following his teachings and Sunnah.

On this note, she outlined three aspects of developing this appreciation, beginning with knowing the Prophet (pbuh) through his sirah, character, struggles and Sunnah.

The second is translating that knowledge into practice by reflecting the Prophet’s (pbuh) exemplary character in daily life and the third is carrying the Prophet’s (pbuh) guidance on aqidah into everyday life, rather than remembering him only during Rabiulawal.

“Know him throughout our lives by reviving his Sunnah and instilling his character within ourselves, because he is the light of guidance on aqidah that illuminates the heart and guides our character,” she said.

The programme was enlivened by Muslim women and congregants of Kampong Bengkurong Mosque, Brunei-Muara District, alongside Muslim women and congregants from several mosques nationwide, female employees under the MoRA and individuals participating virtually from their homes.

The programme began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Muslimah of Kampong Bengkurong Mosque Hajah Norhidayah binti Haji Daud.

This was followed by mass recitation of Surah As-Sajdah led by Head of the Muslimah group of Kampong Bengkurong Mosque Hajah Asmah binti Haji Sulaiman, while the Munajat prayer was recited by Muslimah Class Guidance Facilitator at the mosque Aimi Amalina binti Haji Abdullah.

Following the talk, Selawat Tafrijiyyah was recited collectively, led by Muslimah of Kampong Bengkurong Mosque Hajah Suritti binti Haji Sabli.

The programme concluded with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, recited by Hajah Norhidayah binti Haji Daud.

The Munajat Night programme aims to encourage Muslims to draw closer to Allah the Almighty through spiritual practices, seek forgiveness, recite and reflect upon Al-Quran, and collectively raise and affirm prayers with the hope that Brunei Darussalam, its people and residents will always be protected from calamities and infectious diseases.
