Nationwide Azan Subuh competition crowns winners

Haji Muhammad Aiman Rayyan bin Haji Mohd Fazilah of Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary School, Mentiri won the finals of the Azan Subuh competition for secondary schools and colleges nationwide 2026 at Dewan Jawatan Dalam, Brunei History Centre yesterday.

Meanwhile, second place went to Ahmad Adib bin Dr Haji Supri of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School and third place went to Mohammad Iman Ikramuddin bin Haji Shahruddin of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College.

Assistant Director of Co-Curriculum Education, Ministry of Education (MoE) Mohammad Norilham bin Haji Jais, the guest of honour, presented the prizes.

Organised by the MoE, through the Spiritual Activities Division, Department of Co-Curriculum Education, the preliminary selection round saw 39 participants, comprising students from government and private secondary schools under the purview of the MoE, as well as schools under the purview of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Of the total participants, nine advanced to compete in the final round.

The competition aimed to build and enhance students’ confidence in spreading the Islamic call through the Azan Subuh. It also sought to nurture a generation that is confident and courageous in conveying the Islamic call through the Azan.
