Nationwide Kreative Fest Tour begins in November

Brunei’s growing creative scene is gaining a new platform with the introduction of Kreative Fest 2027, a major celebration envisioned to bring together the country’s artists, performers, creators, event organisers, makers, creative businesses, and communities.

The journey will commence this November through the Kreative Fest Tour, which will travel across different parts of the Sultanate to establish accessible platforms for local talents to perform, showcase their work, collaborate, reach new audiences, and build momentum towards the main festival.

The initiative was officially introduced during an Open Briefing on September 12, 2026 at Dewan Di-Gadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The event brought together 80 members of the Sultanate’s creative community, including artists, performers, event organisers, potential collaborators, industry stakeholders, and media representatives.

The session saw strong interest in participating in the tour, proposing programmes, and exploring collaborative opportunities, sparking initial connections among creatives and organisers.

To keep the conversations going, regular gatherings are expected to align activities and develop joint initiatives, with the first Event Organisers’ Gathering tentatively scheduled for September 19, 2026.

Initiated by Legasiworks Events & Media, Kreative Fest 2027 is envisioned as a five-day celebration spanning music, theatre, dance, comedy, film, visual arts, fashion, creative markets, workshops, talks, competitions, and related experiences.

Founder of Legasiworks Events & Media Rohaya Arun said that while Brunei’s creative sector is expanding with emerging talents and ideas, further platforms, connections, and opportunities remain necessary.

The tour is scheduled to begin at the Brunei Shell Recreation Club in Seria from November 26-29, 2026, followed by Kuala Belait from December 17-20, 2026, and at The Core, Universiti Brunei Darussalam from January 14-17, 2027, with a Tutong edition also in planning.

Each stop will feature a tailored mix of live performances, creative markets, workshops, competitions, family activities, food, and community experiences adapted to local settings.

“Kreative Fest is not about Legasiworks creating everything ourselves,” Rohaya said. “We want event organisers to bring their programmes. We want artists to showcase their work. We want performers to take the stage, and we want creative businesses to connect with new audiences. Our role is to create a platform where these different parts of the creative community can come together and create more opportunities for one another.”

As part of the launch, Kreative Fest 2027 has opened registrations of interest for individuals, groups, and organisations.

Event organisers and community groups are invited to propose activities and collaborations, while singers, musicians, bands, dancers, actors, comedians, filmmakers, photographers, designers, illustrators, content creators, and makers are encouraged to register to perform or showcase.

Local vendors, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and creative businesses will also be offered opportunities to participate via creative marketplaces and activations throughout the tour.

The open call seeks to engage both established and emerging figures, particularly those who have not yet had opportunities to present their work on larger public platforms.

Beyond the events, the initiative aims to strengthen ties between creatives, commercial enterprises, venues, and stakeholders to foster the broader creative ecosystem.

The initiative will also take place as the country prepares for Visit Brunei Year 2027, creating additional avenues to highlight local talent, products, and experiences to wider audiences.
