The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) will conduct a military exercise across several areas nationwide from September 28 to October 7.
Codenamed Exercise Hikmat Bersatu VII/2026 (EX HB VII/2026), the exercise will affect maritime, rural, residential and commercial areas, including major roads, in the Brunei-Muara, Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts.
The Ministry of Defence advised members of the public, particularly those living near exercise areas, not to be alarmed by the movement of security and uniformed personnel, land convoy vehicles, aircraft and sea patrols.
The exercise will also involve the use of explosives and pyrotechnics.
Members of the public are strictly prohibited from approaching, entering or remaining within designated exercise areas to prevent incidents and ensure public safety.
The ministry also stressed that photographs and video recordings related to the exercise must not be taken or shared on social media platforms, citing the need to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the exercise.
It warned that sharing unverified or false information is an offence under Section 34 of the Public Order Act, Chapter 148, on dissemination of false reports.
