Bee Motors launches Chery in Brunei
Global automotive brand Chery officially entered the local market, introducing its first two models; the TIGGO Cross Turbo and TIGGO 7 PHEV, as part of its long-term expansion in the Sultanate.
The launch, hosted by authorised dealer Bee Motors Sdn Bhd, also marked the opening of Chery’s first showroom at OneCity Shopping Centre, setting the stage for the brand’s growing presence in Brunei’s automotive sector.
The launch brought together guests, business partners and members of the media to mark the beginning of Chery’s operations in the local market.
In his welcoming remarks, General Manager of Bee Motors Han Ming Kwang said the company’s decision to introduce Chery to Brunei was driven by the brand’s global growth, investment in research and development, diverse powertrain technologies and strong focus on safety.
Chery is the world’s number one Chinese passenger vehicle exporter, with more than 20 million vehicles sold globally and a presence in more than 120 countries and regions.
The brand has also achieved five-star safety ratings across major international NCAP programmes, reflecting its emphasis on vehicle and occupant safety.
“We are not here simply to sell vehicles. We are here to build a trusted brand for generations to come. Our partnership with Chery is a long-term commitment, one built on shared values, mutual trust, and a common vision for the future,” said Han.
As part of its long-term commitment, Bee Motors plans to establish a flagship Chery 3S facility covering Sales, Service and Spare Parts.
During the launch, Product Specialist Fadhli Rosli demonstrated selected Advanced Driver Assistance Systems features across the two models, highlighting how intelligent safety technologies can assist drivers in everyday driving situations.
Head of Chery Brunei James Chin announced the official pricing and early-bird promotions.
The TIGGO Cross Turbo is a compact SUV powered by a turbocharged petrol engine, offering a combination of contemporary styling, technology, practicality and performance for everyday driving.
Meanwhile, the TIGGO 7 PHEV introduces Chery’s plug-in hybrid technology to the Brunei market, combining an electric motor and high-voltage battery with a petrol engine.
The TIGGO 7 PHEV has also achieved a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.
Following the launch, Chery Brunei is holding a public roadshow at OneCity Shopping Centre on September 12 and 13 from 10am to 10pm.
