The atmosphere at Surau of Istana Nurul Iman was enlivened on Monday evening with the recitation of Dikir Maulud as part of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for the year 1448 Hijrah, with the fifth night attended by 225 people.
Among those attending the Dikir ceremony were Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Mohammad Harris bin Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim.
The gathering also comprised members from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Village Consultative Council (MPK) Kampung Kiudang, Takmir Committee and Mosque Youth Group (KBM) of An-Na’im Mosque, Kampong Panchor Mengkubau, as well as Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of verses from Al-Quran.
The programme continued with a religious talk titled ‘Menyemai Cinta Rasulullah SAW’, which explored the history of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) through ‘Doa Membina Jiwa Tenang’, delivered by Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi.
The event continued with performances of Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Asyrakal, Dikir Khairuman and other Dikir recitations, before concluding with the recitation of the Doa Dikir and Doa Peliharakan Sultan Dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The Dikir Maulud is part of a series of activities being held over 12 consecutive nights, culminating on 12 Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, corresponding to August 24, 2026
