Employees Trust Fund, TAP, has prosecuted two businesses namely Iman Bridal and Atelier; and Haji Yusof Tahir Trading Company, for failing to pay employee their employees' contributions as required under the TAP law.
The owner of Iman Bridal and Atelier pleaded guilty for failing to make TAP, SCP and SPK contributions for his employees within the stipulated period. Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court imposed a fine of $3,000 and ordered the business to pay the fine as well as the outstanding contributions for the TAP, SCP and SPK Schemes including accrued dividends amounting of $16,750.97.
Meanwhile, the owner of Haji Yusof Tahir Trading Company also pleaded guilty for failing to make TAP and SCP Scheme contributions for his employees within the stipulated period. The Kuala Belait Magistrate's Court imposed a fine of $1,600 and ordered Haji Yusof Tahir Trading Company to pay the fine as well as the outstanding contributions for TAP and SCP Schemes, including accrued dividends amounting of 89,881.66.
