Four officers from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left for Singapore on Thursday to participate in the third cohort of the Work Placement Programme in the Republic of Singapore for Public Service Officers.
The participants comprise officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Awang Haji Mohamad was present at Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the delegation.
Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Pengiran Haji Raffizanna bin Pengiran Haji Razali, and Director-General of Public Service Dr Norfarizal bin Othman were also in attendance.
Prior to their departure, a Doa Selamat was recited by Special Grade Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Asminan bin Awang Haji Chuchu, who is also among the participants of the programme.
The Work Placement Programme in the Republic of Singapore for Public Service Officers is an initiative established under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Public Service Capacity Development between the Government of Brunei and Singapore, formalised on August 24, 2022.
The programme provides high-performing Bruneian civil servants with opportunities for professional attachments in the Singapore Civil Service or government-linked agencies, aligned with their areas of expertise, organisational requirements, and national development priorities. – James Kon
