PMCA shares Benefits of Innovation in Education

 

 


The Princess Maha Chakri Award (PMCA) is a mandate to continue to inspire and guide teachers to produce students who are not only successful in academics, but also prepared to face the real world. Dayang Shahrifah binti Haji Mohd Shahlan, Education Technology Specialist, Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre and Education Technology Centre who received the award in Bangkok, Thailand recently described the award as an honour for teachers in the country who always strive to bring learning in a more innovative and meaningful direction.

 

Serving for 22 years, Dayang Shahrifah who also teaches Computer Science has introduced innovative teaching and learning methods that have had a significant impact on improving her students' achievement. The approach has been developed into a comprehensive training programme and a teaching planning framework which is now being implemented nationwide.

 

According to Dayang Shahrifah, a career as a teacher not only involves teaching, planning and assessing learning but also guiding students comprehensively, including co-curricular activities and their welfare, as well as being responsible for shaping the next generation.
