The Sarawak Malay National Association is organising the three-day Borneo Marhaban Festival until 2nd November. The Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Mosque Affairs Department sent a delegation to attend the Borneo Marhaban Festival which takes place in Kuching, Sarawak.
The selection of participants was made based on the expertise, skills and experience of the selected participants in relation to the Brunei Dikir that will be presented, as an effort to showcase the uniqueness of Islamic culture and traditions in Brunei Darussalam. Among the objectives of the Borneo Marhaban Festival, is to elevate Marhaban, which is Dikir or Poetry among the community, especially the younger generation and part of the Malay Islamic cultural heritage that needs to be preserved.
