Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) yesterday formalised collaboration with Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) to support wider access to cashless payments at Shell stations, giving motorists more payment options and convenience when paying for their everyday fuel purchases following a signing ceremony at Dewan An-Naura, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.
Through the collaboration, BSM and Perbadanan TAIB aim to encourage Shell station operators to offer cashless payments through tarusQR.
The adoption of the cashless payment solution will depend on the readiness of Shell station operators to participate and the completion of merchant arrangements with Perbadanan TAIB.
Signing on behalf of BSM was Managing Director Mohammed Alexirwan bin Haji Omar, while Perbadanan TAIB was represented by Permanent Secretary (Coordinating for Economic Policies) at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim, who is also the managing director of Perbadanan TAIB.
The digital payment system, tarusQR, is currently available at the TAIB Beribi and TAIB Delima Shell stations. – James Kon
