The Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Research, IBER Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD, in collaboration with Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad, BSP, and the Forestry Department, held the 'Phase 2 Badas Tree Planting Project' on 30th September morning at Jalan Badas, Seria.
Some 50 volunteers from UBD, BSP and the Forestry Department, working with the IBER research team, planted 200 'Dryobalanops rappa' or Kapur saplings. The initiative marks the continuation of the Badas Tree Planting Project, a science-based reforestation effort focusing on degraded areas along Jalan Badas. The programme is part of efforts to protect the area's unique biodiversity and ecosystem
