A full rehearsal for the Brunei-Muara District will be held on Thursday as part of preparations to ensure the smooth running of the National-Level Maulud Nabi Celebration for 1448 Hijrah, ensuring that movements and coordination among the parties involved are carried out in an orderly manner ahead of the main event.
In less than a week, Muslims nationwide will commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as part of the Maulud Nabi celebration. In conjunction with the occasion, the nation will hold several large-scale Maulud Nabi celebrations, featuring simultaneous gatherings and processions in all four districts on 12 Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, corresponding to August 25, 2026.
For the Brunei-Muara District, the main event will be held at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in Bandar Seri Begawan at 7am.
Meanwhile, other gatherings and processions will also be held in the other districts. This includes the Padang Bandaran, Jalan Sultan, Kuala Belait in the Belait District; the open area at the Tutong District Community Hall Complex in the Tutong District; and the parking area of Dewan Belalong, Bangar Sub-District Community Hall Complex in the Temburong District.
Themed ‘Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Suluh Aqidah’ (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the Light of Faith), the celebration is jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The public is also encouraged to increase their recitation of Selawat upon Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), with hopes that the practice will bring blessings during such a momentous occasion.
