A total of 40 trees were planted and 230.4 kilograms of waste were collected during the Tree Planting and Beach Cleaning event held in conjunction with the Earth Day celebration. Organised by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, with the support of the Group of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries and Affiliated Members, the event was held at Muara Beach Recreational Park, 22nd April morning.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minster of Development. The activities are in line with the Earth Day celebration, aimed to raise awareness and encourage participation from all levels of society in protecting the environment. This year's Earth Day focuses on the collective role of the public, communities, and organisations in sustaining efforts to care for and preserve the environment.
