Market stall operators are required to display prices accurately and clearly in accordance with the Price Control (Display of Prices) Order to avoid misleading consumers. This requirement was highlighted to market stall operators at Pasar Tani Selayun and Pasar Jerudong during recent inspections by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics through the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Finance and Economy recently.
Following the inspections, more than 80 stall operators were found to have adhered to the Price Control (Display of Prices) Order. However, a number of operators were still found to be either not displaying prices or displaying prices only on certain items.
Consequently, warnings have been issued to stall operators and posters on price display were distributed to increase awareness and promote compliance.
