Eighty participants took part in the National Preliminary Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading Competition for Adults at Mosques, Surau and Religious Hall nationwide held for 3 days starting from 21st of October. Of these, 42 participants advanced to the next stage. The prize presentation was held at Setia Ali Mosque, in Muara Town, 25th October morning.
Prizes were presented by Yang Berhormat Awang Lawi bin Haji Lamat, Member of the Legislative Council. Also present was Awang Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs. The competition aimed to identify potential Qaris and Qariahs who meet the criteria to advance to the next level, as well as to strengthen the culture of reading Al-Qur'an among the Muslim community in this country.
