Product Recall

The Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA) announced that the Food Safety Authorities Network (INFO-SAN) has issued a notice of recall of 'ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula' following an outbreak of infant botulism in the United States. Infant botulism usually begins with constipation, but early signs include difficulty feeding; weak or altered crying; and loss of head control.

All lot numbers, can sizes and single-serving packs are affected by this recall. The product is also sold online, which has notified all customers who purchased it. BDFA confirmed that this brand is not commercially imported into Brunei Darussalam. However, members of the public who bring this product in personally or purchase it online are urged to stop using it immediately. BDFA also reminds that, according to Section 9, subsection bracket one, sub-paragraph bracket one, of the Public Health (Food) Act (Section 1-8-2), any individual who prepares, sells or imports dangerous food can be imprisoned for up to five years, fined, or both.
