In conjunction with Maulidur Rasul Shallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam, a number of people in the country took the opportunity to gain rewards through sedekah or alms giving.
Some groups of individuals were already on the procession route to give alms in the form of food and drinks. Alms giving is a praiseworthy practice and highly encouraged in Islam.
