Regional push to make higher education future-ready

Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad ysterday attended the 15th Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education in Asia-Pacific Region (APEC CCHE’26), held in a hybrid format in Vladivostok, Russian Federation.

Held on the sidelines of the XI Eastern Economic Forum, the Conference was organised jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Far Eastern Federal University under the theme ‘Synergy of Innovation in APEC Higher Education’.

The conference is guided by the principles of the APEC Education Strategy Action Plan 2016–2030, with an emphasis on advancing innovation and strengthening the capacity of higher education systems to contribute to sustainable regional development.

The conference brought together high-level representatives from APEC economies, including education and science ministers, university leaders, government officials and industry representatives, to strengthen regional cooperation in higher education.

Discussions focus on responding to changing labour-market needs and the rapid development of emerging technologies, while advancing innovation, employability and industry-aligned competencies.

Also attending the online conference were officials from the MoE, Brunei Darussalam.
