The Muslimah Mosque Committee of Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque held a Ratib Al-‘Attas recitation and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a religious talk by Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), Ministry of Religious Affairs Siti Juhaidah binti Haji Bujang.
The programme continued with the recitation of Ratib Al-‘Attas, Doa Kesyukuran and the singing of the national anthem.
The ceremony at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital was held to seek blessings and well-being for His Majesty. Head of the Muslimah Affairs Division at the Mosque Affairs Department Noraini Yanti binti Haji Hussin was the guest of honour.
Members of the Muslimah Mosque Committee, Syababus Salam volunteers, and Muslimah congregants from selected mosques were also in attendance. Yesterday’s ceremony not only served as an expression of gratitude and prayers for His Majesty’s well-being, but also aimed to strengthen the bonds of unity among Muslimah congregants and mosque communities.
It also reflected the continued efforts to enliven mosques through religious activities that bring blessings to the community.
The ceremony concluded with prayers seeking Allah the Almighty’s continued blessings upon His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, including good health, abundant mercy, and protection, as well as lasting peace, happiness, and prosperity under Allah the Almighty’s blessings. – Lyna Mohamad
