The Department of Mosque Affairs under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continued its outreach efforts to raise awareness of the National Mosque Construction Fund with a roadshow for officers and staff of the Public Works Department (PWD), Ministry of Development.
Organised through the Secretariat Unit of the National Mosque Construction Fund, the briefing was held at the Atria Simpur Hall on the ground floor of the PWD headquarters.
The event forms part of an ongoing initiative aimed at strengthening public understanding of the establishment, objectives, and role of the fund in supporting mosque development across Brunei.
A briefing on the fund was delivered by Acting Assistant Director of Mosque Affairs of the MoRA Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu. The presentation covered the background and objectives of the fund, methods and mechanisms for collecting contributions, including the salary deduction scheme, statistics on funds collected, as well as updates on completed and upcoming mosque construction projects.
The roadshow concluded with a question-and-answer discussion, providing participants with the opportunity to seek clarification on matters related to the fund and its implementation. It specifically targets government officers and employees who joined the civil service from 2020, providing them with a comprehensive overview of the fund and encouraging greater participation through voluntary contributions.
The National Mosque Construction Fund was established to provide Muslims in the country with a continuous avenue to contribute towards the construction and development of mosques, allowing them to earn spiritual rewards as promised in Islam while making a lasting charitable contribution for the Hereafter. – Lyna Mohamad
