His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman graced the final of the under-18 girls category of the 4th Aewon PPE Interschool Basketball Tournament match between International School Brunei (ISB) and Jerudong International School (JIS), at the Brunei Basketball Association’s basketball court in Batu Bersurat on Sunday.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah was part of the ISB team.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah were also present.
In the final, the defending champion JIS cruised to a 70-39 win over ISB. JIS dominated the final, with Suzanne Van Der Marel scoring a high of 24 points while Alexus Wong scored 14 points. Jumilo Adekoya also played an integral part for the win. Third place went to Chung Hwa Middle School BSB.
In the final of under-18 boys category, JIS held off ISB 64-56 to capture the championship. Jack Wu, Yi Bang and Adrian Lee enjoyed a massive game for JIS scoring a combined of 47 points, while Nirwan and Hadzrin scored a total of 36 points for ISB.
Chung Hwa Middle School BSB finished third. Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah presented the prizes for the under-18 girls winners, while Aewon Garment Sdn Bhd officials presented the prizes for the boys category.
