The Ministry of Education through the Department of Special Education in collaboration with National Association for the Hearing-Impaired, OKP, held a 'Run for Inclusion'. Held in conjunction with 30th Anniversary of the Department of Special Education, the event took place at Jerudong Park Playground, 31st August morning.
It was officiated by Pengiran Doctor Mohamad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Corporate at Ministry of Education. The run was divided into a 1-kilometre 'Family Fun Walk' which involves students with parents and guardians, a 3-kilometres 'Competitive Run' specifically for students with special needs, and a 5-kilometres 'Competitive Run' which is open to the public. The events aim to raise funds that will be channelled to the Special Education Fund and the OKP Association.
