Open Troop Calamansi 1111 celebrated its third anniversary with a two-day programme at Muara Beach, culminating in the presentation of World Scout Membership Badges to members who fulfilled the requirements for admission into the global Scouting movement.
The programme began on Saturday evening with participant registration, followed by spiritual activities at the beach surau, including mass Maghrib and Isyak prayers, recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran in gratitude for the troop’s achievements and growth over the past three years.
Activities were also held, including speeches, the presentation of appreciation awards and activity certificates, fellowship sessions, the troop-level World Scout Scarf Day celebration, a dinner gathering and a group photography session. A highlight of the evening was the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake.
The second day began with light exercise followed by a beach clean-up as part of the troop’s community service initiative. The highlight of the afternoon was the World Scout Membership Badge presentation ceremony, recognising members who had successfully met the requirements for Scout membership.
The ceremony marked a milestone for the recipients, as the badge symbolises their acceptance into the worldwide Scout Movement, which comprises millions of members across the globe.
The event also featured the investiture of Scout scarves, the presentation of membership badges and the reaffirmation of the Scout Promise, reflecting the members’ commitment to serving their religion, the monarch, the nation and the community.
