The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) held the opening ceremony of the 12-night Dikir in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul at the PPNBD’s prayer hall.
The ceremony began with the congregational Maghrib prayer, followed by the recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam as an expression of gratitude and love for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The 12-night Dikir is among the PPNBD’s religious activities aimed at further enlivening Maulidur Rasul, while fostering love, appreciation and reflection among members of the scouting movement on the noble character and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The Dikir sessions will continue on subsequent nights on a rotational basis, involving Scout leaders and members. The initiative is part of PPNBD’s efforts to enliven mosques and prayer halls, while encouraging members of the scouting movement to participate in religious and community activities.
PPNBD hopes that love for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) will continue to be nurtured in the hearts of all members of the scouting movement and translated into the practice of noble character, unity, community service and mutual respect.
President of the PPNBD ACP (Rtd) Haji Abdul Murad bin Haji Abdul Hadi was the guest of honour. Deputy President of the PPNBD Pengiran Dr Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Damit was also present. – James Kon
