Following the announcement of the New Family Banknotes Series, Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) will continue conducting socialisation sessions to business machine owners, including parking and vending machine operators, and payment kiosk owners.
To ensure smooth and convenient transactions, business owners are advised to carry out and complete calibration exercises to enable the machines to recognise and accept the new banknotes once they enter circulation in the first half of 2026. BDCB reassures the public that all existing banknotes currently in circulation will remain legal tender and will continue to circulate alongside the new banknotes.
Business machine owners who have not participated in the socialisation sessions are encouraged to contact BDCB's Currency Management team via email at 'cm@bdcb.gov.bn' or call 837 2186.
