Special prayer seeks rainfall amid haze

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that a special prayer seeking rainfall amid the current hazy weather conditions will be recited at mosques, surau and prayer halls nationwide.

As part of ongoing efforts to address the haze situation, the ‘Doa Memohon Dikurniakan Hujan Sebab Dilanda Jerebu’ will be recited following the Sunat Hajat prayer during Maghrib at mosques, surau and prayer halls across the country.

The recitation began on September 1, corresponding to 20 Rabiulawal 1448H, and will continue until further notice.

The prayer will also be recited following the Sunat Hajat prayer on Fridays, beginning September 4, corresponding to 22 Rabiulawal 1448H, until a date to be announced later.

The ministry called on Muslims in the country to collectively perform the Sunat Hajat prayer and seek wellbeing and safety amid the prevailing weather conditions.

The prayer may be performed in congregation at mosques, surau and prayer halls nationwide, or individually at home.
