Sports School athletes represent Brunei at Thailand Sports School Games

A four-member contingent from the Sports School is representing Brunei Darussalam at the 27th Thailand Sports School Games (Nakhonseekhwae Games), organised by the Ministry of Education through the Department of Schools.

Brunei is competing in the pencak silat event with three student-athletes: Awang Muhd Ra’id Naim bin Muhd Syamsuddin, Awang Muhammad Asyraf Syafiee bin Norazrin and Dayang Nur Hidayatul Najwa binti Asrizal.

The athletes departed for Thailand last Sunday, accompanied by Sports School coach Awang Muhammad Ali Rashid bin Haji Mohd Alipah.

Present at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the contingent were Sports School Principal Awang Alexandar bin Bandang, senior officials from the Department of Schools, Sports School administrators, as well as parents and family members.

The games are being held at Nakhon Sawan Sports School in Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand, from July 15 to 24.

The participation aims to provide the athletes with valuable international competition experience and an opportunity to measure their abilities against competitors from leading sports schools in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

The Sports School also participated in the Thailand Sports School Games in 2025.
