Spotlight on holistic youth development

Spotlight on holistic youth development » Borneo Bulletin Online

The six-month National Service Programme (PKBN) Pilot Project launched at the National Service Programme Training Camp in Batu Apoi, Temburong yesterday places strong emphasis on holistic youth development by balancing the cultivation of discipline, character, identity and patriotism with the development of knowledge, skills and future readiness.

The PKBN Pilot Project comprises five main components – the character, nationhood and religious affairs component; discipline and physical training component; community service component; future readiness component; and civil defence programme component.

The implementation of these components involves collaboration among various ministries, departments and government agencies, as well as the private sector and non-governmental organisations.

Through its enhanced programme content, PKBN aims to nurture a generation of resilient, independent and adaptable young people who possess self-confidence, strong values and a sense of responsibility, enabling them to make meaningful contributions to their families, communities and nation.
