His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam held a State Visit to Malaysia by attending a State Welcoming Ceremony, an Audience Ceremony and State Luncheon with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia. The State Visit is at the invitation of His Majesty the King of Malaysia. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
Present to welcome His Majesty's arrival at Istana Negara for the State Welcoming Ceremony was His Majesty the King of Malaysia, and Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. A twenty one-gun salute was fired, accompanied by the national anthems of Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.

Following the State Welcoming Ceremony, His Majesty together with His Majesty the King of Malaysia proceeded to the Audience Ceremony and a gift exchange.
His Majesty was then invited for a photo session with His Majesty the King of Malaysia and Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The State Visit also included a State Luncheon. The enduring close relationship and bond between the Royal Families of Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia is clearly visible in the ceremonies held during this State Visit.
