Students gain insights into environmental sustainability, innovation

Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School (SMYSHHB) students gained practical insights into environmental sustainability, climate action, and innovation through the STEAM Outreach Programme: Brunei Young Eco Innovators Project.

The two-hour programme, at the school’s Multipurpose Hall, involved students from Classes 10 Fast, 11 Science 1, 11 Science 2, and 9 Fast.

SMYSHHB Principal Sarimah binti Haji Lusin was the guest of honour at the programme aimed at empowering students with knowledge and practical skills while encouraging them to become active contributors towards a greener and more sustainable future.

The principal in her welcoming remarks, expressed appreciation for the collaboration between educational and corporate stakeholders in promoting environmental education among Brunei’s youth.

Speakers during the programme shared insights into sustainability, environmental responsibility, and community-driven initiatives that can contribute towards a more sustainable Brunei.

Students explored key themes including climate change awareness and zero-waste living.
