In an effort to disseminate information on current issues and government policies, while also gathering feedback on matters requiring the attention and action of relevant government agencies, the Information Department, Prime Minister’s Office, through its Tutong District Branch under the Strategic Communications Division, held a Sua Muka (Personal Contact) programme with community leaders from Kampong Tanjong Maya/Kampong Lubok Pulau and Kampong Bukit Udal/Kampong Penapar, of Mukim Tanjong Maya, Tutong District.
The programme was held at the Tanjong Maya Community Hall on September 1, 2026 with the Deputy Director of Information Sastra Sarini binti Haji Julaini leading the contingent from the Information Department delegation, while Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya Mohd Azaman Shah bin Haji Sahari attended as the representative of the mukim.
Head of Kampong Tanjong Maya/Kampong Lubok Pulau Nur Azmil bin Haji Ismail, and the Head of Kampong Bukit Udal/Kampong Penapar Haji Masri bin Haji Abdullah, as well as officers from the Information Department, E-Government National Centre (EGNC), and Energy Department were also present.
The programme began with welcoming remarks by the Deputy Director of Information, who highlighted the department’s role as the government’s voice, eyes and ears in disseminating the latest information, government policies and current issues to the public.
She said such information is conveyed through various platforms, including the Program Sua Muka and the official newspaper Pelita Brunei.
She also explained that the Program Sua Muka is one of the Information Department’s working strategies under its face-to-face communication approach.
The programme aims to strengthen two-way communication between the government and the people, as well as between the people and the government, through the dissemination of information and community engagement programmes that can contribute towards the development and progress of mukim and village communities.
In his response, the village head highlighted the importance of the programme as an effective platform for fostering closer ties, exchanging views and directly hearing about issues, opinions and needs within the grassroots community.
Among the programme’s highlight includes a briefing on ‘Dissemination of False Information’, presented by the Information Department.
Meanwhile, a briefing on ‘BruneiID’ was delivered by the Special Duties Officer Level II from the EGNC Muhammad Amir Azizi bin Haji Shukry.
The engagement provided an avenue for residents to directly voice concerns and share feedback with the relevant authorities, while strengthening communication and cooperation between government agencies and the local community.
