Muslims should make the lunar eclipse phenomenon as a lesson to increase self-awareness on the greatness of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala and seek His forgiveness. The lunar eclipse is a sign of Allah's power, just like how the night and day happens. This was among the matters underlined in a special sermon during the Sunat Lunar Eclipse Prayer early this morning at the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.
The sermon also stressed that Rasulullah Shallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam encouraged the muslim ummah to do good deeds such as performing the prayer, reciting doa, zikir, and giving alms during an eclipse. Among those attending was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The Sunat Lunar Eclipse Prayer was also performed at all mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country.
