Talk highlights obedience to lawful leadership

Obedience to leaders, provided it does not conflict with Islamic principles, is a fundamental teaching of Islam rooted in Al-Quran and Sunnah, and serves as the foundation of peace, unity and national stability.

This was a reminder delivered in the dawn talk during the ‘Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat’ programme held at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque yesterday morning.

The talk ‘Mentaati Ulil Amri’ was delivered by Assistant Religious Development Officer from the Da’wah Dissemination Division of the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs Muhammad Safwan bin Mohd Suffian.

In his talk, he explained that loyalty to the monarch is demonstrated through respect for the institution of leadership, which serves as a catalyst for the nation’s well-being, harmony and prosperity.

He also called on citizens to contribute to the country’s progress by obeying Allah the Almighty, upholding laws that are in accordance with Islamic principles, preserving unity, and practising integrity and piety in their daily lives.

The programme began with the congregational Subuh prayer, followed by the recitation of Wirid and the talk.

The programme also seeks to instil a deeper love for mosques as the houses of Allah the Almighty while nurturing the spirit of a Zikir Nation and Negara Berkat through the practice of Islamic values in everyday life, contributing to the nation’s peace, prosperity and well-being. – Lyna Mohamad
