Teachers recognised for dedication to religious education

The Brunei I Area Religious Schools Leaders Committee held a Teacher’s Day celebration for officers and teachers of religious schools in the area on Sunday, in conjunction with the 36th Teacher’s Day celebration this year.

The event also honoured three retired teachers from religious schools in Brunei I Area in recognition of their years of service and dedication to religious education.

The ceremony began with a Zainul Quran performance by male teachers, followed by an address from District Islamic Studies Officer for Brunei I Area under the Religious Schools Division of the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs Hajah Halimatul Saadiah binti Haji Wahsalfelah, the guest of honour.

Tokens of appreciation and gifts were presented to teachers who retired in 2025, followed by a Tausyeh performance by female teachers.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of appreciation awards to religious school teachers in Brunei I Area across various categories, followed by a lucky draw, before concluding with the recitation of Doa Selamat.

The celebration aimed to recognise the contributions and dedication of teachers in educating and guiding students, particularly those who have retired, while strengthening ties and fostering a sense of unity among officers and teachers of religious schools in Brunei I Area. – Lyna Mohamad
