Motorists travelling along Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Highway are advised to exercise caution following the announcement of temporary lane closures beginning Sunday night and Monday night.
The Public Works Department (JKR) announced that a section of the highway heading towards Brunei International Airport will be partially closed from 9pm Sunday night until 5am on Monday to facilitate the installation of steel piles and reinforced concrete foundations at the Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) Golf Club.
The overnight closure will continue as required until the works are completed, subject to weather conditions.
Meanwhile, another temporary lane closure will take place along the highway heading towards Gadong and Sungai Akar, beginning Monday (October 19).
The closure, scheduled from 10pm to 6am, is to accommodate trial pit works and will remain in effect as required until completion, depending on weather conditions.
JKR said the affected sections of the highway will remain open to traffic, although one lane will be temporarily closed during the works.
Motorists are reminded to remain vigilant when approaching the affected areas, observe traffic signs and comply with the prescribed speed limits.
The department also urged road users to exercise additional caution to ensure safety throughout the construction period.
