The government of His Majesty is committed to diversification through the development of priority sectors, expansion of trade relations, and positioning Brunei Darussalam as a trusted destination for foreign direct investment. The Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy stressed this during the Third Brunei Economic Forum, organised by the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD. The forum took place at UBD's Chancellor Hall, 3rd September morning.
Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid also underscored the need for forward-looking policies to strengthen competitiveness, emphasising that the country must advance its diversification agenda, deepen trade relationships, and equip its people with the skills required for the future economy. The forum featured a keynote address on 'Geopolitics in a Multipolar World Economy.' With the theme 'Global Economic Uncertainties: Risks and Opportunities for Small Open Economies', the forum acts as a significant platform for dialogue on issues central to nation development.
