Atanacio Afonso and Natalino De Jesus – who were on full scholarships by Daikyo Industrial Gas and Equipment Unipessoal Lda, a Brunei company based in Timor-Leste – have completed their Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality at Laksamana College of Business (LCB).
They were among the graduates celebrated at the 2026 Graduation Ceremony on Thursday at the Songket Ballroom of The Rizqun International Hotel. Managing Director of Daikyo Industrial Gas and Equipment Unipessoal Lda Hung Ah Hing was on hand to congratulate the two graduates from Timor-Leste.
Hung Ah Hing said, “I’m so proud and truly happy today to see the two students from Timor-Leste whom I sponsored officially graduate. Seeing them reach this important milestone fills my heart with immense joy. It is also a meaningful milestone for me, as I am grateful to have been able to share my blessings with others and, in some small way, help them pursue their dreams and build a brighter future.”
In 2024, Daikyo Industrial Gas and Equipment Unipessoal Lda signed a memorandum of understanding to offer two Timor-Leste students full scholarships to pursue the Diploma in Hospitality programme for the September 2024 intake at LCB. The scholarships were offered as a token of appreciation to the Timor-Leste government for its support over the years.
