Two foreign nationals were detained during separate immigration enforcement operations conducted in Liang and Gadong under Operasi Kakas 2026, according to the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD).
Operasi Kakas 96/2026 was conducted at five separate locations in Mukim Liang.
A total of 20 foreign nationals and one Brunei Darussalam permanent resident were inspected during the operation.
One person was detained and taken to the department’s Kuala Belait Law Enforcement Division for further investigation after failing to produce valid documents as required under Section 55(4)(a), (b) and (c) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17.
The individual is also believed to have breached Regulation 15(2) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17, for working for an employer other than the registered employer.
Meanwhile, Operasi Kakas 100/2026 targeted a beauty and health business premises in Mukim Gadong.
Three foreign nationals were inspected, with one detained and taken to the department’s Law Enforcement Division in Bandar Seri Begawan for further investigation.
The individual is believed to have breached Regulation 9(4) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17, for working while holding a visit pass.
The operations were conducted by the department’s Law Enforcement Divisions in Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait.
